About Circular Economy
A Circular Economy aims to keep products and materials in use for longer, improving the productivity of such resources. A circular economy does this by focusing the product value-chain on:
- reusing, refurbishing and recycling
- maximising inherent value in products and by-products
- reducing material and energy costs
- consumption of services rather than purchasing assets
The current economic model is inefficient. Much of what we produce ends up in landfill, with only a small amount being recovered and recycled.
Adapting to a circular concept will cut down on the amount of waste, it also assists in the regeneration of natural ecosystems. No matter the size of your business, you can benefit from adapting to a circular approach that generates economic opportunities by improving resource efficiency.
The circular economy concept is fast becoming the accepted model for sustainable growth and is a core component of the EU’s 2050 long-term Strategy to achieve a climate neutral Europe.
What we offer
Our team can help you identify sustainable cost-effective solutions within your project and compile your Circular Economy Statements or other documentation required for certification purposes.
We also help to embed mechanisms within procurement exercises such as leasing or end of life supplier take back. These are two examples that encourage suppliers to embed residual value, encouraging circular thinking.
Who the Circular Economy Model is for
Both public sector and private organisations with large manufacturing operations can benefit from a circular economy. Key sectors include plastics and packaging, textiles and electronics manufacturing.
Bringing the concept of the Circular Economy to life within the manufacturing value chain involves substantial changes in core production and supply chain processes. With increasing uncertainty within supply chains, resilience is becoming more important for businesses in all industries.
